Tourism Revenue and Remittances Boost Tunisia's Economy
According to data from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), tourism revenue reached 938.7 million dinars as of February 28, 2025, compared to 887.9 million dinars collected during the same period in 2024. This increase reflects a slight improvement in the sector compared to the previous year.
Furthermore, Tunisians living abroad transferred a total of 1,264.1 million dinars to their country of origin during the same period, representing a increase from the 1,184.7 million dinars sent by the end of February 2024. These financial flows highlight the importance of diaspora contributions to the national economy.
Cumulatively, the remittances from expatriates and tourism revenue exceeded 2.2 billion dinars by the end of the second month of 2025. These figures confirm their key role in strengthening the country's monetary reserves.
