Investment Boom in Agriculture: 166.1 Million Dinars in 5 Months

According to the latest figures published by the Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA), 1189 investment operations totaling 166.1 million dinars have been approved by the grant committees in the first five months of 2025. These projects are expected to create 1117 permanent jobs.

Breakdown of Approved Projects

  • 708 new projects have been validated, representing 90 million dinars (60% of the total number and 54% of the total value).
  • 481 other projects involve extensions or renewals, totaling 76.1 million dinars (40% in number and 46% in value).

Project Categories

  • 580 Category A projects, with an average investment of 100,000 dinars.
  • 609 Category B projects, with an average investment of 177,000 dinars.

Sectoral Breakdown

  • Agriculture leads the way with 75 million dinars in investments, followed by:
    • Services related to agriculture and maritime fishing (51.2 million dinars).
    • Aquaculture (29.8 million dinars).
    • Fishing (9 million dinars).
    • Primary processing of agricultural and fishing products (1.1 million dinars).

Notable Growth

  • Investments in aquaculture sector have skyrocketed by 1858% compared to the same period in 2024, from 1.5 to 29.8 million dinars.
  • Services related to agriculture and fishing have also progressed by 94%, while the fishing sector has seen a notable decline of 33%.

Temporal Distribution

  • 34% of approved projects in 2025 were declared this year.
  • 45% were declared in 2024.
  • 21% were declared in 2023 or earlier.
