Cyberattack Targets Tunisian University Websites, Student Data at Risk
Widely shared publications on Facebook and relayed by certain student groups report a cyberattack targeting several Tunisian university websites. According to these messages, hackers allegedly gained access to sensitive data concerning thousands of students, including:
- National identity cards
- Photos
- Enrollment certificates
- Phone numbers
- Baccalaureate transcripts
However, it is essential to note that no official source – neither the Ministry of Higher Education nor the National Cybersecurity Agency – has confirmed or denied the reality of this attack or the extent of the data breach. Screenshots are circulating on Telegram and private groups, but their authenticity remains to be verified.
According to these same publications, the attack was allegedly perpetrated by a group of hackers based in Morocco. This point, as well as the reported 150,000 affected students, currently relies solely on social media testimonials, without official verification.
Pending clear communication from the concerned authorities, students are advised to remain vigilant, verify the security of their personal accounts, and report any suspicious elements to the competent ministries.
