A significant portion of PGH's investments is allocated to ensuring a green industry that respects the environment and nature, as well as social works. In the green industry, PGH has adopted a visionary environmental policy that integrates environmental, climate, and social considerations into its business activities.

Carbon Footprint and Bilan Carbone
PGH's strategy is based on two main axes:
- Reducing CO2 emissions: aiming for carbon neutrality in a few years
- In 2023, reductions achieved:
- Photovoltaic = 36,380 Tonne/Year
- Energy Efficiency Projects = 7,364 Tonnes
- Cogeneration Projects = 40,347 Tonne/Year
- Objectives for 2030:
- Photovoltaic Projects = 41,000 Tonne/Year
- Energy Efficiency Projects = 24,000 Tonne/Year
- Cogeneration Projects = 62,000 Tonne/Year
- In 2023, reductions achieved:
- Reducing product carbon footprint: conforming to the European Union's new requirements
- Mechanisms for carbon adjustments at borders (MACF) have been initiated, starting with the steel pole
Valorization of Production Waste
PGH has implemented a waste valorization policy, including:
- Manufacturing products from recycled paper
- Systematic selective sorting in all subsidiaries
- Equipping production units with wastewater treatment and recycling stations
- Capacity of treatment stations: approximately 1,246,000 m³ per year (2023)
- Total water reuse in the Poulina Group: 661,652 m³, representing a total reuse rate of 65.65%
Social Responsibility
PGH, through the Poulina Foundation for Knowledge, is a strategic partner of the Ministry of Education and supports the national effort to renovate schools. It has also enabled thousands of students from disadvantaged regions to access the Carthage Land park.
ESG Guide and Awards
PGH is the first Tunisian group to publish an ESG guide, as required by the Tunis Stock Exchange, since 2022. Two of its subsidiaries, Elmazraa and Briqueterie Bir M'cherga, have won the Best ESG Companies in Tunisia award in 2022 and 2023.
