Ahead of Eid al-Kebir, the Central Bank of Tunisia Urges Banks and Post Offices to Take Necessary Measures

In a note dated June 4, 2025 (No. 84/2025), the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) directly to the general managers of banks and the CEO of the Tunisian Post Office. The objective is clear: to avoid any interruption of electronic banking services during the Eid holidays, a period marked by a high demand for liquidity.

The Central Bank particularly stresses two points. Firstly, the regular replenishment of automated teller machines (ATMs) to meet users' needs. Secondly, continuous monitoring of technical platforms ensuring electronic payments to prevent any failure.

It also recommends maximum reactivity: in case of a breakdown or service disruption, the concerned establishments must intervene quickly to restore normal functioning.

Note: Eid al-Kebir is a significant Islamic holiday, and the Central Bank is taking proactive steps to ensure that the banking system functions smoothly during the holiday season.
