Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Signs Collaboration Agreement with Swiss Ambassador to Promote Youth Employment

According to a press release, the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chouad, signed a collaboration agreement with the Swiss Ambassador to Tunisia, Joseph Ringli, on Friday, February 28, at the ministry. The objective of this agreement is to facilitate the integration of nearly 2,000 unemployed young people into the Tunisian labor market, particularly those with prolonged unemployment periods.

The partnership is based on a collaboration between the public and private sectors. Participating companies first identify their human resource needs, and then the National Employment Agency organizes the recruitment of candidates according to transparent criteria. Objective-based contracts bind companies to the program, covering all stages from training to final hiring. The training programs focus on the technical and practical skills required, complemented by mentorship to facilitate adaptation in a professional environment.

Companies wishing to participate can already respond to a call for applications launched by the ministry. The first phase of the project involves mapping the needs of economic sectors, followed by a rigorous selection of job seekers. Public and private structures work in synergy to align candidate profiles with employer expectations, while ensuring post-hiring follow-up.

This partnership is part of a strategy to reduce regional inequalities and promote an inclusive economy. By combining targeted training, international cooperation, and tailored support, it aims to create a reproducible model for professional integration. The ministry highlights that this initiative illustrates an innovative social approach, where the state and private sector unite their efforts to address labor market challenges.
