Kheiredine Canal Bridge Officially Opens to Traffic

The Kheiredine canal bridge, located on Regional Road No. 33 crossing La Goulette, was officially opened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic today, November 6, 2024.

This project, led by the Regional Administration of Equipment and Housing of Tunis, is part of the efforts to modernize the region's infrastructure and improve traffic flow in this key sector.

The goal is to reduce congestion and offer safer and more efficient travel conditions for La Goulette's residents and visitors.

The project, with a total cost of 4.7 million dinars financed by the state budget, involved demolishing the old bridge deck and rebuilding the reinforced concrete slab over a length of 40 meters.

Additional works included laying a bituminous concrete wearing course, building sidewalks, and installing a rainwater drainage system.

Horizontal and vertical signage was also put in place to ensure better road safety.

Work is currently ongoing to build a metal passage to accommodate public utility networks, with an 85% completion rate.

This project represents a significant step forward in improving La Goulette's urban infrastructure, contributing to economic development and mobility in this strategic area.
