Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Announces Funding Opportunities for Young Researchers
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the opening of applications for funding research projects under the young researchers encouragement program for the year 2026.
Eligibility and Application Deadline
According to the General Directorate of Scientific Research, applications are open until March 16th, as per publication number 5 of 2026 from the ministry.
Program Objectives and Scope
This program is a competitive funding mechanism for research and innovation activities, primarily targeting young academics at the beginning of their careers, across all scientific disciplines. The objective is to:
- Promote scientific excellence
- Encourage orientation towards national and regional priorities
- Foster participation in national and international project calls
Participation Conditions
To participate, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Be a member of the teaching and research staff with the rank of assistant professor or equivalent at the time of project submission
- Be employed in a higher education and scientific research institution or a public research establishment
- Have no more than five years of seniority in their current rank as of the application deadline
- Not have previously received funding under previous editions of the program
