Open Startup Tunisia Hosts Inaugural OST Goes Green Event, Fostering Innovation and Climate Action
Last night, Open Startup Tunisia organized the first edition of the OST Goes Green event, bringing together experts and industry leaders to discuss the intersection of climate action and startup innovation in Tunisia. The event took place at the Tunisian Foundation for Development and offered a unique platform for exchanging ideas on the challenges and opportunities related to ecology in the business world.
The debate highlighted the crucial role of Tunisian startups in transitioning to a sustainable economy, emphasizing the need to combine growth and ecology. Speakers stressed the urgency of merging commercial and environmental practices, while valuing the potential of young entrepreneurs to innovate and preserve the environment while creating wealth. This event marks the preparation for a new promotion of the OSTX program, which aims to support startup ideas and inform students about this new generation of entrepreneurs committed to sustainability.
One of the evening's highlights was an expert roundtable, where participants had the opportunity to hear from renowned leaders in the field of sustainability, including Abdelkader Baouendi, an expert in environment and sustainable development, Hela Cheikhrouhou, Regional Vice President at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Arij Mejdi, Growth Manager at Kumulus, and Mohamed Rammeh, co-founder of Wayout. These experts addressed key questions about transitioning to a green economy, emphasizing the importance of sustainable innovation in creating solutions to current environmental challenges.
