Orange Announces the Launch of the 16th Edition of the Orange Social Entrepreneur Award in Africa and the Middle East (POESAM)

Orange is launching the 16th edition of the Orange Social Entrepreneur Award in Africa and the Middle East (POESAM). This annual competition rewards innovative projects with a high impact, based on technology, in 17 countries where Orange operates, including Tunisia.

About POESAM

Since 2011, POESAM has been honoring technological start-ups that are committed to having a social and/or environmental impact in various fields such as education, health, environment, and agriculture, thereby contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Eligibility Criteria

The POESAM is open to students, employees, and entrepreneurs over 21 years old, who have a project created less than five years ago and have reached at least the prototype or experimentation stage.

Competition Stages

The competition takes place in two stages:

  1. National Final: Four prizes will be awarded to the winners, including the Women's Prize, launched last year with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Tunisia, with funding from Canada. This prize rewards an entrepreneurial project led by a woman.
  2. International Grand Prix: The Tunisian winners will then qualify for the International Grand Prix, where they will compete alongside candidates from the other 16 countries in the Africa and Middle East region. Four international prizes will also be awarded, including the International Women's Prize.

Benefits of POESAM

For 16 years, POESAM has been a real springboard for committed entrepreneurs. It offers a unique opportunity to valorize innovative projects with a high impact and win up to the equivalent of 25,000 euros.
