Ooredoo Tunisie Renews Environmental Commitment with Reforestation Efforts
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program "Tounes T3ich", Ooredoo Tunisie announces the continuation and reinforcement of its environmental efforts through the relaunch of a vast campaign dedicated to reforestation and restoration of natural areas affected by fires.
Background
In 2023, Ooredoo launched a major operation with the reforestation of 70 hectares in Bargou, an area severely affected by forest fires. The initiative received a very positive response and earned the company national recognition in terms of CSR. In 2024, Ooredoo unveiled an ambitious new project covering 100 hectares in Béja, also heavily damaged by fires. To date, 100 hectares have been reforested between Bargou and Béja, representing a key step in this multi-year commitment.
Current Efforts
This year, Ooredoo continues its action with the additional reforestation of 30 hectares in the Béja region, reaffirming its willingness to actively contribute to national forest restoration efforts. As the National Tree Day approaches, and in a context marked by strong environmental concern, Ooredoo launches a new campaign to raise awareness about the urgent need to restore areas ravaged by fires.
Campaign Objectives
This campaign aims to mobilize the public, strengthen citizen engagement, and highlight the company's ongoing efforts to support Tunisian nature. "Restoring areas destroyed by fires is a national imperative and a commitment we take with responsibility," emphasizes Mansoor Rashid Al-Khater, CEO of Ooredoo Tunisie. "Through our CSR program Tounes T3ich, we support concrete actions to revive our forests. Together, we can build a greener future for Tunisia."
