Water Levels in Tunisian Dams Reach 30.9% as of August 25, 2025
According to the latest data published by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI) on Tuesday, the overall water level in Tunisian dams stood at 30.9% as of August 25, 2025.
The water reserves in these dams have increased by 32.3% to approximately 731 million m3, compared to 552.548 million m3 the previous year.
In comparison to the average recorded over the past three years, the increase was less significant, at 9.5%.
Regarding cumulative water inflows (from September 1, 2024, to August 23, 2025), they reached 980.287 million m3, a 49% increase compared to the same period last year.
It is worth noting that the filling rate varies from one region to another. The dams in the north have a filling rate of 36.3%, accounting for 92% of the available water reserves in all the country's dams.
In contrast, the filling rates for dams in the center and Cap-Bon regions were limited to 9.9% and 21.2%, respectively.
According to the ONAGRI bulletin, the water inflows into the dams recorded on August 25, 2025, amounted to 0.390 million m3, while the total usage was approximately 2.029 million m3.
