Citrus Fruit Exports See Significant Increase in Tunisia
From October 17, 2024, to January 30, 2025, Tunisia's citrus fruit exports experienced a remarkable 41.4% increase, reaching 3,300 tons compared to 2,334 tons during the same period of the previous season. In terms of value, these exports progressed by 33.5%, rising from 8,344 million dinars (MD) to 11,147 MD.
Maltaise Orange Exports on the Rise
Between January 11 and 30, 2025, Maltaise orange exports totaled 2,258 tons, with forecasts predicting 12,000 tons for the current season.
Citrus Fruit Harvest Sees 5.2% Increase
The citrus fruit harvest for the 2024/2025 season is estimated to reach 384,000 tons, marking a 5.2% increase compared to the 365,000 tons harvested last year. This growth is primarily due to the increased production of "clémentine" (+24.1%), "Miski" (+11%), and "Navel" (+5.2%) varieties.
Regional Production Increases
The harvest growth was observed in several regions, with notable increases in the governorates of Nabeul (+1.8%), Ben Arous (+18.1%), Bizerte (+31.3%), and Béja (+28.6%), which saw their productions rise significantly compared to the previous season.
