Exchange of Certified Wheat Seeds for the 2025 Harvest
The Office of Cereals announced on Sunday, September 7, that until December 31, 2025, farmers can exchange certified seeds of hard and soft wheat for seeds from the 2025 harvest of the same cereals.
Context and Regulations
This measure is part of Decree No. 344 of 2025, dated July 11, 2025. The goal is to support farmers by providing them with certified seeds for the next planting season.
Procedure for Exchange
Farmers can deliver their quantities of hard or soft wheat harvested in 2025 to collection centers, where they can then stock up on certified seeds. The value of the delivered quantities will be set according to the circular on production prices for the 2025 campaign and the procedures in force defined by the Office of Cereals.
Incentives for Farmers
A rapid delivery premium is also granted to producers, within the limit of the value of the quantities provided, which will serve to purchase certified seeds. It is possible to exchange hard wheat for soft wheat seeds and vice versa.
Current Collection Status
As of August 4, 2025, collection centers have gathered 11.823 million quintals, with 96% destined for consumption and 4% dedicated to selected seeds, according to data from the Office of Cereals.
