Nvidia and SoftBank Corp Pilot World's First AI-Powered 5G Network
Nvidia and SoftBank Corp have successfully piloted the world's first telecommunications network combining artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G capabilities.
This innovative network can simultaneously execute AI workloads and 5G processing, a process known as Artificial Intelligence Radio Access Network (AI-RAN).
The applications of this network are vast and include remote support for autonomous vehicles and robotic control. According to Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, SoftBank is the first to receive the new Blackwell chip designs, which will be integrated into the AI supercomputer being developed to design its own generative AI model.
