Introduction of New 10 Dinar Banknote in Tunisia
The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) officially announced on October 17, 2025, the introduction of a new 10 dinar banknote, which will coexist with the existing banknotes in circulation. Although the design and security features remain unchanged from the previous version, some notable adjustments are worth highlighting.
Key Changes to the New Banknote
- The issue date has been updated: the banknote now displays "25-07-2025" instead of "20-03-2020", with larger characters for better readability.
- The signatures have been updated to feature the signatures of the BCT Governor, Fethi Zouhaier Nouri, and the Vice-Governor, Mourad Abdessalem, replacing the previous ones.
Impact on Citizens and Currency
These changes do not affect the banknote's liberatory power or its legal tender status, which will continue to circulate in parallel with other banknotes of the same value and type. This ensures a smooth transition for citizens, with the new banknote coexisting with the existing ones.
