Digitalization of Pleasure Boating: A New Era for Tunisian Ports
The Ministry of Tourism is set to launch a digital application dedicated to pleasure boating, aiming to bid farewell to paperwork and streamline travel between the country's ports. This project is part of a modernization strategy to boost the attractiveness of the Tunisian coast and diversify the national tourism offer. To achieve this ambition, the Minister of Tourism, Sofiane Tekaya, gathered representatives from six key ministries (Interior, Defense, Finance, Transport, Agriculture, and Technology) on February 3, 2026.
A Single Digital Application for All Procedures
The project involves creating a unique digital application for all stakeholders in pleasure boating, allowing for the digitization of administrative procedures, including:
- Boat registration
- Declarations
- Authorizations
The goal is to simplify and unify procedures between Tunisian ports, reducing administrative steps and improving the speed of processing requests.
Improving Services and Enhancing Security
The application will improve the functioning of pleasure ports, enhance the quality of services, and improve the reception of users and visitors. The project will also enable electronic tracking of boat movements, reinforcing security and improving coordination between ports and relevant structures.
Attracting New Investments and Strengthening Port Integration
This project aims to attract new investments in the sector, with the integration of ports being essential. The application will facilitate exchanges between different Tunisian ports.
Launch Scheduled for the Near Future
During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of accelerating the development of this application, with the goal of launching it as soon as possible. They also called for strengthening coordination between the various structures involved.
