New President of the National Statistics Council Appointed
The National Statistics Council has a new president. Mouna Dahan Zgolli, a general engineer, has been appointed to this position by decree published in the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) on Friday, July 24, 2026.
Appointment Details
This appointment is for a term of 4 years, renewable once, in accordance with the rules governing the functioning of this body attached to the Ministry of Economy and Planning. In fact, the National Statistics Council plays a central role in organizing the national statistical system. It ensures coordination between different public data producers and contributes to improving the quality of statistical information used to guide public policies and economic decisions.
Responsibilities and Benefits
The decree published in the JORT also specifies that Mouna Dahan Zgolli will benefit from the rank and benefits granted to a ministry secretary general, in application of Article 2 of Decree No. 99-2797.
