Moody's Upgrades Tunisia's Sovereign Rating to CAA1 with a Stable Outlook
On February 28, 2025, Moody's rating agency upgraded Tunisia's sovereign rating from CAA2 to CAA1, with a maintained stable outlook. This upward revision also applies to the senior unsecured debt of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), which benefited from a similar improvement. This development is based on several positive economic indicators, including the progress made in the repayment schedule of Tunisia's private sector external debt and the stable maintenance of the BCT's foreign exchange reserves over the past 24 months.
