Mohamed Essafi Appointed Deputy General Manager at DAAM (Formerly CFE-Tunisia)

Effective July 1, 2026, Mohamed Essafi has been appointed Deputy General Manager at DAAM (formerly CFE-Tunisia). In this expanded executive role, he will oversee key strategic pillars including business development, organizational transformation, and performance management.

The announcement was shared by Essafi himself on LinkedIn. After more than three years with DAAM—primarily leading commercial operations and credit management—he now steps into a senior leadership position. This new mandate builds directly on his proven track record in business development, financial oversight, and performance optimization.

A Diverse Executive & Entrepreneurial Background

Prior to joining DAAM in January 2023 as Sales Manager, Essafi built a robust career spanning corporate finance, strategic management, and entrepreneurship. His professional journey includes:

  • Citibank Tunisia (~6 years): Managed treasury operations, cash management, and credit risk monitoring.
  • Shell Tunisia: Served as Treasury Manager.
  • TAV Tunisia & Tibah Airports Operation Company (Saudi Arabia): Held senior financial leadership responsibilities.
  • SIM Trade (2016–2022): Founded and directed a wholesale distribution company specializing in optical frames, sunglasses, and equipment for the optics sector.
  • Bricorama Tunisia (2014–2016): Served as General Manager.

Driving DAAM’s Strategic Growth & Financial Inclusion Mission

In his new capacity, Essafi aims to accelerate DAAM’s growth trajectory and long-term strategic ambitions, with a scope that extends well beyond commercial operations. This appointment marks a pivotal moment for DAAM, a leading microfinance institution dedicated to financing and supporting micro and small entrepreneurs across Tunisia.

With 18 branches nationwide, DAAM places financial inclusion and entrepreneurship development at the core of its mission. Essafi’s broader mandate will be instrumental in scaling the institution’s impact, strengthening its operational resilience, and positioning it for sustainable growth in Tunisia’s evolving financial landscape.

Education & Cross-Sector Expertise

A graduate of the Institut Supérieur de Gestion (ISG) in Tunis, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing (1993–1997), Essafi brings nearly three decades of cross-sector expertise. His career spans banking, energy, aviation, retail, and microfinance, equipping him with a versatile leadership perspective tailored to drive DAAM’s next phase of innovation and expansion.
