Election of Mohamed Adel Chouari as Vice-President of the Francophone Alliance of Trade Registries

Mohamed Adel Chouari, Director General of the National Register of Enterprises (RNE) of Tunisia, has been elected Vice-President of the Francophone Alliance of Trade Registries (Afrec) for the term 2026-2029. This appointment, confirmed on January 27 during the first elective general assembly, reflects Tunisia's commitment to Francophone cooperation and its contribution to promoting economic transparency.

Leadership of the Afrec

The Afrec Board of Directors is led by Thomas Denfer, who was re-elected President for a three-year term, representing the National Council of Clerks of Commercial Courts in France. Mohamed Adel Chouari holds the vice-presidency, while Yves Pepin, Deputy Minister responsible for Registers in Quebec, serves as Treasurer. The board is completed by Yves Gonner, Director of the Luxembourg Business Registers, Jean-Clément Ngatali, Chief Clerk of the Commercial Court of Brazzaville, and Akouvi Alla-Sene, Head of the Trade and Movable Credit Register of Lomé.

Background of the Afrec

The alliance was created in November 2022 on the occasion of the 18th Francophonie Summit in Djerba. Its objective is to bring together, around the French language, the heads of business registries who work towards economic transparency in their respective countries. In 2024, the Afrec organized its second forum in Villers-Cotterêts, on the sidelines of the 19th Francophonie Summit, under the high patronage of President Emmanuel Macron, with the participation of Professor Mayatta Ndiaye Mbaye, Permanent Secretary of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (Ohada).
