Ministry of Communication Technologies Launches Preparation of Development Plan for 2026-2030
The Ministry of Communication Technologies has officially launched the preparation of the development plan for the information and communication technology (ICT) sector for the period 2026-2030. This process relies on the formation of working teams composed of representatives from various public structures, tasked with proposing projects and programs adapted to national priorities.
Minister Sofiene Hemissi Kicks Off Initiative
Minister Sofiene Hemissi launched this initiative last Friday, in the presence of ministry officials, institutions under its supervision, as well as representatives from other ministries and public organizations, including the Ministry of Economy and Planning, designated as the national coordinator for the development of the plan, according to a statement released on Sunday.
Participants Express Commitment to Contribute
Participants expressed their willingness to make an active contribution, highlighting the importance of evaluating ongoing projects in the digital economy to more effectively guide proposals for the new development plan.
Minister Emphasizes Need to Leverage Technological Transformations
The minister stressed the profound technological transformations taking place worldwide and the need for Tunisia to capitalize on them, while anticipating potential challenges to mitigate their economic, social, and cultural impacts. He also reiterated the importance of translating the country's new strategic vision into concrete projects aligned with the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
Diagnostic and Prioritization Key to Effective Development
In this context, the minister emphasized the need for a rigorous diagnosis of the current situation, clearly identifying existing problems and setting priorities, in order to propose credible and effective programs and projects for the development of the digital sector.
