Launch of the Competitiveness Pact for the Electronics Industry in Tunisia by 2030

A meeting chaired by the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, was held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the ministry's headquarters to launch the development of the competitiveness pact for the electronics industry in Tunisia by 2030. The meeting was attended by Walid Benamor, President of the "ELENTICA" group, Felix Sarzan, Head of the GIZ project for employment and SME support, and several high-ranking officials from the ministry.
In her address, Thabet Chiboub emphasized the importance of this pact, which is part of the national industry and innovation strategy. The pact aims to strengthen the industrial sector, improve quality and productivity, attract more investments, and boost exports, while creating new jobs.
The electronics industry, which comprises over 75 companies, is a key sector of the Tunisian economy. It has generated around 23,000 jobs and a production value of nearly 400 million dinars, with 95% of production destined for export.
The Competitiveness Pact is based on several axes:
- Promoting the image of the sector
- Strengthening research, development, and innovation
- Creating jobs and developing skills
- Improving infrastructure
- Adapting the legislative and incentive framework
- Strengthening corporate social and environmental responsibility
A series of meetings will be scheduled in the coming months with all stakeholders to finalize the pact by 2030.
