Ministry of Equipment and Housing Installs Solar Power Stations to Reduce Energy Consumption
The Ministry of Equipment and Housing has begun installing solar power stations on its premises to generate electricity and reduce energy consumption. This initiative is part of the ministry's plan to implement energy efficiency measures to rationalize public expenditure as outlined in the energy transfer program for public enterprises.
First Phase: 10 Solar Power Stations Across 8 Regions
The first phase of the program involves the installation of 10 solar power stations across 8 regional directions of the Ministry of Equipment and Housing, including Tunis, Ben Arous, Zaghouan, Beja, Monastir, Gabes, Kébili, and Tozeur. These stations have a total potential capacity of 268 KWc.
Second Phase: Central Solar Power Station and Additional Installations
In the second phase, a 165 KWc solar power station is planned for the ministry's headquarters, and a 10 KWc solar station will be installed at the Regional Directorate of Sousse.
Progress Update: Four Solar Power Stations Already Installed
Four solar power stations have already been installed in Gabes, Tozeur, Zaghouan, and Tunis, preparing for the integration of their production into the electrical grid, with the remaining stations to be installed in other regional directions.
