Meta Officially Expands Meta AI to the Middle East and North Africa

Meta has officially extended Meta AI to the Middle East and North Africa, making the AI-powered chatbot available to hundreds of millions of people. It will be available in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. In parallel, Meta is expanding its support for the Arabic language.

Designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, Meta AI requires no downloads or sign-ups. It takes the form of a blue circle icon, which you may have noticed while using various Meta applications.

Users can summon a virtual assistant by typing @meta in a chat on applications like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger to get recommendations for nearby places to visit, for example. Meta indicates that it plans to adopt a multimodal approach to AI features available in the MENA region, including tools like "Imagine Me," which creates stylish selfies for users, and audio dubbing for Instagram Reels.

For businesses, having access to automated commercial tools powered by AI will help marketers maximize the value of each ad impression and achieve superior results. There are real opportunities for increasingly personalized content, promising an improvement in customer experience and commercial effectiveness.

With this announcement, Meta AI is now available in 42 countries across 13 languages, with around 700 million users already across its various applications, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook itself.
