On April 8, 2025, the Minister of Industry, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, inaugurated the extension of Mecachrome Tunisie's production unit in the Mghira industrial zone, Ben Arous governorate. This €5 million investment will enable the company to double its annual production, from 2.5 to 5 million pieces, while creating 600 new jobs.

Founded in 2010, Mecachrome Tunisie is a leading manufacturer of aerospace components, with several sites across the country. This project aims to strengthen Tunisia's position in the international aerospace industry, supported by tax incentives and facilities offered by the government.

The aerospace component sector in Tunisia comprises 85 companies, generating 17,000 jobs. The Ministry of Industry has launched a competitiveness charter to improve this sector by 2030. The Ben Arous region, with its 22 industrial zones, plays a crucial role in the country's economic attractiveness.
