The 37th Edition of the Comar Tunis-Carthage Marathon: A Symbolic Event Celebrating 40 Years of Comar
On December 1st, 2024, the 37th edition of the Comar Tunis-Carthage Marathon will kick off, marking not only a new chapter for this iconic race but also a symbolic event coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Comar.
Participants will have the choice between four circuits adapted to all levels: a 5 km course, a 21 km semi-marathon, the traditional 42,195 km marathon, and a kids' race. These options allow everyone, whether seasoned athletes or amateurs, to experience the unique thrill of this event that brings together thousands of enthusiasts every year.
Recognized on the international scene, this event is now part of the global marathon calendar, a status that would not have been possible without the unwavering support of partners and the commitment of participants. This marathon, like all Comar events, radiates beyond the capital's borders, touching the regions as well.
The excitement around this 2024 edition is palpable: registrations have increased by 40% compared to the previous year, with over 1,000 foreign participants expected. Indeed, this event is more than just a race: it's a global gathering, where over 6,000 "players" – or runners, to be precise – will take to the courses, a number far surpassing the 11 players on a football pitch.
The objective is simple: to make sports accessible to all and promote the values of self-improvement and solidarity.
This year, Comar is also placing a special emphasis on eco-responsibility. Actively engaged in environmental preservation, the company launched an ambitious reforestation program in partnership with several associations in 2021. In 2021, 20,600 trees were planted, a figure that jumped to 33,800 in 2022 and 39,000 in 2023.
And that's not all: a carbon footprint assessment will be conducted this year in partnership with EY, aiming to measure the event's ecological impact and adopt measures to reduce it in the years to come.
Participants will receive eco-friendly gifts, including t-shirts made from recycled materials, a symbolic yet concrete gesture that underscores Comar's commitment to the planet and sustainability.
The Comar Tunis-Carthage Marathon 2024 will not only be a race but a unifying event, combining sports, conviviality, and environmental responsibility. Mark your calendars for December 1st to experience this beautiful human and sporting adventure.
