COPE Investment Group Appoints Malek Smaili as Regional Director for North Africa
As of June 1, 2025, Malek Smaili will take the reins as Regional Director for North Africa at COPE Investment Group, a Cyprus-based investment group with a presence in Lebanon, specializing in insurance and reinsurance brokerage, consulting, and operational management.
With over 17 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, Malek Smaili is recognized for his sharp expertise and structured career path. Holding a Master's in Risk Management, Insurance, and Reinsurance from the École Supérieure de Commerce (2005-2007), he began his career in 2007 at Aon Tunisie, where he spent over seven years as an Account Executive and then Senior Account Executive.
In November 2014, he moved to Assurances At-Takafulia as Technical Director, overseeing reinsurance and non-life branches for nearly six years. In October 2020, he was recruited by ASTREE Assurances as Director of Reinsurance, a position he held until May 2025.
