UBCI Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Solutions Amidst Growing Water Stress and Plastic Bottle Pollution Challenges
In response to the increasing challenges of water stress and plastic bottle pollution, UBCI is reaffirming its commitment to sustainable solutions. With the launch of its partnership with startup Kumulus, the bank is taking a significant step forward in its environmental strategy for its employees and customers.
On Friday, November 29, UBCI unveiled the installation of Kumulus machines at several of its sites, a technological innovation capable of producing potable water directly from the air. This project is part of an ambitious approach to raise awareness about eco-responsibility among its collaborators and customers, aiming to reduce the use of plastic bottles.
The machine's operation is based on an ingenious process: ambient air is cooled to generate water droplets, which are then filtered, mineralized, and stored in a reservoir ensuring their purity and freshness. Each machine can produce between 20 and 30 liters of potable water per day, offering a practical and ecological alternative to bottled water.
UBCI aims to deploy these machines at several sites across the country, consolidating its role as a pioneer in sustainable development and its support for Tunisian startups. Through this partnership, the bank hopes to inspire lasting change in environmental practices, while contributing to the preservation of natural resources.
