Tunisian Consumer Organization Sounds the Alarm on Illegal Vehicle Towing and Immobilization Practices
The Tunisian Organization for Consumer Information (OTIC) has raised concerns over excessive practices, particularly in Tunis, during vehicle towing and immobilization operations for illegal parking.

OTIC calls for the immediate suspension of non-compliant towing concessions pending a comprehensive audit of the granting conditions. It also emphasizes the need to revise the municipal tender document to specify the requirement for a police officer to be present during all towing and immobilization operations.
The organization proposes the launch of digital solutions such as mobile applications, electronic alerts, and surveillance systems to better manage urban parking.
Finally, it recommends the creation of an official complaint handling mechanism and compensation for citizens who are victims of illegal practices. OTIC reaffirms that strict adherence to the law is essential to preserve everyone's rights.
