Water Supply Issues Plague Tunisia: 604 Complaints Filed in July

Last July, the Tunisian Water Observatory (OTE) recorded 604 complaints related to potable water supply. Among these grievances, 536 were linked to unannounced cuts or disruptions in distribution.

According to data published last Tuesday, the OTE indicated that the governorate of Gafsa reported the highest number of problems, with nearly 66 complaints, followed by Jendouba (46) and Médenine (43). Other regions, such as Ben Arous (38), Sfax (37), Zaghouan (36), Gabès (32), and Le Kef (30), also reported significant difficulties in terms of water supply.

In response to these issues, several localities have seen the emergence of protest movements, totaling 32 actions demanding more reliable access to potable water.
