A 60-Year Partnership Enters a New Chapter
This is a story that has been unfolding for over sixty years, and far from showing signs of fatigue, it seems to be embarking on a new chapter. On Wednesday, January 21, the corridors of the Ministry of Industry were buzzing with a special energy: that of reunions and continuity. Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub welcomed Diego Portoghese, the new face of ENI for North Africa, with a shared ambition: to further cement the Italian giant's roots in Tunisia.
More Than Just a Partnership
Since the 1960s, ENI has been more than just a logo on oil installations; it's an actor that has grown with the country. From the legendary El Borma field in the Grand South to today's strategic infrastructure, the Italian group has become, over the decades, an indispensable pillar of the national industrial landscape.
Focusing on the South and Innovation
While the meeting allowed for a celebration of their shared past, discussions were resolutely focused on the future. The future is now taking shape in southern Tunisia, where ENI plans to strengthen its presence. In partnership with ETAP, several large-scale projects are already in the works, although details remain confidential for the time being.
The Essence: A Strong Signal to the Global Market
For Tunisia, this renewal of vows is much more than a technical signature. It's a strong signal sent to the global market: that of a country capable of retaining the largest industrial players over the very long term.
