Historic Achievement for Tunisia: INSAT Wins "Best IEEE RAS Student Chapter in the World"
The National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (INSAT) has made history for Tunisia by winning the title of "Best IEEE RAS Student Chapter in the World", awarded to the best robotics student club affiliated with the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS).
Award Ceremony
This distinction was presented during the 42nd edition of the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2026), the largest global congress dedicated to robotics, held this year in Vienna, Austria, and attended by over 8,000 participants from around the world. According to INSAT, this award recognizes several years of commitment, innovation, and activities carried out by the IEEE RAS Student Chapter, considered one of the most active in its field.
Initiatives and Achievements
Among the initiatives that contributed to this recognition are:
- The National Robotics Weekend (NRW), an event that has gradually acquired an international dimension thanks to the participation of experts and speakers from several countries.
- The club's participation in international robotics competitions, such as Eurobot and NXP.
- The organization of the IEEE MENA Student and Young Professionals Congress, which brings together participants from Africa, the Middle East, and other regions every year. INSAT also highlights the numerous training, scientific popularization, and volunteer actions carried out by its students over the past few years.
Trophy Reception
The trophy was received in Vienna by four INSAT students: Tayssir Trabelsi, Emna Taghlet, Mohamed Amine Elkadhi, and Rami Troudi, who represented the institution during the official ceremony. This award is one of the most important international distinctions obtained by a Tunisian student club in the field of robotics and automation, thereby enhancing the visibility of INSAT and Tunisian skills on the global stage.
