Long-Awaited Kairouan Hospital to Be Built Soon
The highly anticipated Kairouan hospital will soon become a reality. The project, fully funded by the Saudi Fund for Development, has been awarded to a Saudi entrepreneur. The contract was won by Abdullah Saeed Al-Sayed and Partners for a total of $144.253 million. The construction work is expected to take 36 months.
This is a significant development that will give birth to an entire ecosystem in the region, creating tens of thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities. The project will also lead to the establishment of public training institutions, business incubators, and industrial zones in the healthcare sector.
Now, it's essential to focus on training and preparation. In all university hospitals in Tunisia, there is often a shortage of doctors and paramedics. With the current brain drain, it's crucial to think seriously about preserving our skilled workforce and increasing the number of students in various medical fields. Otherwise, who will ensure the hospital's operation? Even the involvement of military personnel might not be enough, given the hospital's size.
For local residents, property values are expected to increase rapidly. It would be wise to invest in rental properties now to meet the emerging demand. The same applies to various services that should position themselves today. This is how we can create growth. If we succeed in launching a project of this magnitude in each governorate, the impact on employment and consumption will be immense.
