National Average Monthly Poultry Consumption in Tunisia Reaches 13,500 Tons
According to Fathi Gharib, President of the National Chamber of Slaughterhouses and White Meat Processing, Tunisia's national average monthly poultry consumption is estimated to be 13,500 tons.
This average has seen a significant increase, as a monthly average of 10,500 tons was recorded in the first half of 2024. This surge in consumption is attributed to the rise in prices of fish and red meat.
Tunisians consume approximately 7,500 tons of chicken per month, as well as 162 million eggs. This quantity increases by 25 million additional eggs during the holy month of Ramadan.
