Provisional Data from September 3, 2024: Foreign Exchange Reserves Experience Slight Increase

According to the provisional data published by the Central Bank of Tunisia on September 3, 2024, the country's net foreign exchange reserves have experienced a slight increase over a 24-hour period.

The reserves reached 25,711.3 million Tunisian dinars (Mtnd), up from 25,679.3 Mtnd the previous day, representing a gain of 32.0 Mtnd.

This increase has enabled the country to gain an additional day of import coverage, bringing the total to 117 days, compared to 116 days of import coverage on September 2, 2024.

However, when comparing these figures over a one-year period, the situation reveals an opposite trend.

In fact, the net foreign exchange reserves have decreased by 730.5 Mtnd compared to the same date in 2023, when they stood at 26,441.8 Mtnd.

This decline in foreign exchange reserves is accompanied by a slight improvement in terms of import coverage, increasing from 116 days in 2023 to 117 days in 2024.
