Olive Oil Revenues in Tunisia See Significant 58% Increase

Olive oil revenues in Tunisia have experienced a significant 58% increase since the beginning of the 2024 campaign, reaching 5,025 million dinars as of September 30, according to the National Olive Oil Office (ONH).

This performance is driven by an increase in exports, which have reached 190,122 tons, including 26,483 tons of packaged oil, generating 765 million dinars. This represents a 45% increase compared to the previous campaign (2022/2023).

The average price of bulk olive oil exports stands at 26,429 dinars per ton, while packaged oil reaches 28,887 dinars per ton, highlighting the added value of packaged olive oil on international markets.

For the current campaign, olive oil production is estimated to be between 210,000 and 220,000 tons, according to the National Agricultural Observatory (Onagri). This figure is slightly lower than the 217,000 tons produced during the previous season, marking a slight decrease in production.

In 2023, the total value of olive oil exports had already reached 3.8 billion dinars, compared to 2.5 billion dinars in 2022. These figures confirm the strong dynamics of the Tunisian olive oil sector, which continues to play a key role in the country's agricultural exports and its positioning on international markets.
