Malta-Tunisia Business Delegation Discusses Investment Opportunities
A delegation of 10 Maltese companies, led by Paul Abela, President of the Malta Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises, was received by FIPA-Tunisia's General Director, Jalel Tebib, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. The meeting was also attended by Malta's Ambassador to Tunisia, Joseph Sammut.
Held at FIPA-Tunisia's headquarters, the meeting highlighted investment opportunities between the two countries, particularly in high-value-added sectors. Jalel Tebib emphasized Tunisia's competitive advantages, including its strategic geographic location, availability of skilled labor, and investment-friendly climate. He also reaffirmed the agency's commitment to supporting Maltese investors in their endeavors and facilitating project creation in Tunisia.
An interactive session allowed Maltese business leaders to obtain insights into the investment climate and feasibility of specific projects. The geographic proximity and economic similarities between the two countries are factors favoring the intensification of exchanges.
Currently, Tunisia is home to 20 companies with Maltese participation, with foreign direct investments reaching 106 million dinars and generating around 2,000 jobs. The year 2024 witnessed growing interest from Maltese investors in Tunisia, paving the way for strengthened economic relations between the two countries.
