Investments in Tunisia Reach 3.3 Billion Dinars in H1 2025, Up 16.9%

Investments declared in Tunisia totaled 3.3 billion dinars in the first half of 2025, a 16.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This dynamic is expected to generate nearly 46,000 jobs, according to the statistical bulletin published in June by public organizations responsible for tracking investments (TIA, APIA, APII, ONTT, ONAT). The data excludes projects worth over 600 MDT to ensure a homogeneous reading of trends.

Creation Projects Dominate

Creation projects dominate, accounting for 75% of declared investments, totaling 2,477.9 MDT, and generating over 40,000 jobs, or 88% of announced positions. The industrial sector remains the main driver, concentrating 37% of investments and 39% of jobs. Compared to last year, its investments have increased by 9.6% and job creations by 7.5%. The services sector follows with 749.2 MDT of investments, accounting for 23% of the total, and nearly 22,000 expected jobs. It records a 9.5% growth in volume and 2% in jobs. Agriculture, with 586.6 MDT (18%), shows a 18% decrease compared to 2024, but remains in third place. Tourism totals 434.3 MDT, driven by a significant project in Jendouba, while renewable energies mobilize 307 MDT.

Geographic Breakdown

Ten governorates concentrate over 71% of declared investments. Kairouan tops the list thanks to a 280 MDT renewable energy project. The second district, which includes Tunis, Ariana, Ben Arous, Manouba, Nabeul, and Zaghouan, captures 929 MDT, or 28.1% of the national total. Moreover, regional development zones attract 51% of investments, with a volume of 1685.3 MDT.

National Interest Projects

Four national interest projects were recorded between January and June 2025. Their cumulative amount reaches 715.2 MDT, or 22% of the total, with 1319 jobs at stake. These projects are distributed across the energy (Kairouan), industry (Ben Arous and Gabès), and tourism (Jendouba) sectors.
