Global EdTech Rankings 2024: Online Learning Takes Center Stage
The 2024 global EdTech rankings, established by TIME and Statista, highlight the vigor and impact of over 7,000 companies scrutinized for their financial performance and influence. Among these players, nine out of the top 15 EdTech companies specialize in online learning, a testament to the growing importance of this learning method, notes TIME.
US Dominance and Global Representation
The United States dominates the rankings, occupying more than a third of the top positions. China follows closely with 10%, while the United Kingdom ranks just above 6%. Notably, two Brazilian companies have also shone in the top 10.
Eruditus Leads the Pack
Eruditus has made a splash by announcing a revenue of nearly $400 million for the fiscal year ending June 2023, a 75% growth. This EdTech platform offers online courses in over 80 universities worldwide, including prestigious institutions like the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Cambridge, and MIT. Eruditus has trained over 500,000 learners in 80 countries.
A Tunisian EdTech Startup Makes Waves
A notable presence in this landscape is a Tunisian EdTech company. GoMyCode Tunisia, with a score of 55, ranks 183rd in the global rankings.
This EdTech startup has left a significant mark on the Tunisian territory by establishing 13 hackerspaces across the country, opening up new perspectives for innovation and digital learning. These hackerspaces are now active in over 40 cities in Africa, contributing to the growth of digital education on the continent.
GoMyCode's Ambitious Expansion
Currently, GoMyCode is present in 8 countries, training over 30,000 students through its various programs and initiatives. The company has recently raised $8 million, testifying to its financial success and expansion across Africa. With ambitious projects, such as increasing the number of hackerspaces from 15 to 100 and training a growing number of students, GoMyCode positions itself as a leader in digital education on the continent, responding to the growing needs of a dynamic and digitally savvy African youth.
