Global Soft Power Index 2025: USA Tops the Ranking, Tunisia Slips to 79th
The London-based consulting firm Brand Finance has released its annual report, "Global Soft Power Index 2025", which evaluates the influence of countries through diplomacy, culture, and values.
Global Ranking
The United States dominates the global ranking with a score of 79.5, followed by China (72.8), the United Kingdom (72.4), Japan (71.4), and Germany (70.1).
Least Influential Countries
At the other end of the spectrum, the least influential countries in the world are Kiribati (193rd), Vanuatu (192nd), Tuvalu (191st), Micronesia (190th), and Palau (189th).
Africa's Performance
In Africa, Tunisia has slipped two places compared to 2024 and now ranks 79th globally and 6th on the continent with a score of 36.3. The country's weaknesses lie in media and communication (scoring 2.9/10) and education, science, and governance (scoring 2.7/10).
African Leaders
Egypt remains at the top in Africa (45.4), followed by South Africa (44.9), Morocco (40.6), Nigeria, and Algeria (36.4 each). Tunisia performs well in terms of reputation (5.7/10) and familiarity (4.6/10) but lags behind in media and communication (2.9/10) and education and science (2.7/10).
