Minister of ICT Issues Decree on Cloud Service Providers

The Minister of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has issued a decree, published in the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) under number 049, dated April 16, 2024. This decree, dated April 8, 2024, modifies and complements the provisions of the decree of September 13, 2023. It establishes new procedures and conditions for the granting, renewal, and withdrawal of the "Government Cloud Service Provider (G-cloud)" and "National Cloud Service Provider (N-cloud)" labels.

New Conditions for Cloud Service Providers

According to Article 4 of this decree, the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANC) will be responsible for attributing the two labels to Tunisian cloud service providers from the public or private sector, subject to certain strict conditions. These conditions include:

  • Providing at least one cloud computing service
  • Respecting international standards for cybersecurity and business continuity
  • Offering 24/7 technical support to cloud service users
  • Using primary and backup data centers located in Tunisia (except for co-location space providers)

G-cloud Label Attribution

According to Article 5, the "G-cloud Service Provider" label can be attributed by the ANC to any Tunisian cloud service provider holding the "N-cloud" label, connected to the national integrated administration network and the national interoperability platform.

Transparency and Accessibility

The National Cybersecurity Agency regularly publishes the list of labeled providers on its official website to ensure transparency and accessibility of information.
