The Power of Human Vision in Technology
Technology, no matter how advanced, creates no value without human vision. This is the central message conveyed by Chouaieb Nemri, Generative AI Blackbelt at Google, to young Tunisian leaders gathered at the initiative of CJD Tunisian Horizon. Cloud, artificial intelligence, generative models: all of these remain secondary if we do not dare to experiment, learn continuously, and put humans at the heart of transformations.
The Reality of AI
From the outset, the expert reminded us of a reality that is often misunderstood: AI is not an end in itself. It becomes powerful only when it responds to a real problem, with a clear context and a precise intention.
Three Levels of Generative AI Usage
To help leaders move from discourse to action, Chouaieb Nemri structured his intervention around three major levels of generative AI usage:
- Productivity Enhancement Tools: These are platforms that can connect to different data sources, understand the context, and synthesize useful information. These systems allow us to gain time, avoid repetitive tasks, and focus on decision-making. The goal is not to replace humans, but to offer them a clear and rapid view of the essential.
- Intelligent Automation: Any task repeated several times deserves to be automated. According to him, if an action is performed once, then a second time, then a third time, we must ask ourselves if it can be delegated to a machine. This logic allows us to transform business expertise into scalable processes without losing quality.
- New Applications and Economic Models: The third level, the most strategic, concerns entirely new applications and economic models. AI allows us to create services that did not exist before. The example cited is that of solutions capable of designing a complete application - code, logic, and economic model - from a simple idea expressed in natural language. A rupture that profoundly changes the role of developers and product managers.
The Evolving Role of Product Managers
"At Google, the role of the product manager is evolving rapidly," explains Nemri, adding "It's no longer just about managing a roadmap or writing specifications, but about prototyping, testing, iterating, and understanding technically what AI allows."
