The Rise of Interactive AI Recruiters: A New Era in Job Applications

Applying for jobs is a routine task for the vast majority of Tunisian youth. However, speaking with an interactive recruiter equipped with AI over the phone is not. Technological advancements are making it possible for this to become a reality soon. In fact, many have likely already experienced it when applying on LinkedIn. You fill out an online form and quickly find yourself on the phone with a voice that describes itself as a virtual recruiter.

AI in recruitment is a relatively new phenomenon, and companies are using it to varying degrees, ranging from self-recorded interviews to evaluating candidate responses to questions. Few have adopted tools capable of conducting reactive video interviews in real-time, although they are technically possible. Gradually, interactive AI-powered interviews will become the new norm by 2025. All it takes is for recruiters to adopt and start implementing it. This is not a phenomenon that will occur in several years, but likely in just a few months.

The use of AI in the interview process presents advantages for both companies and candidates. During selection interviews, AI can be useful in eliminating candidates who are clearly unqualified. This practice can also, paradoxically, bring more "humanity" to human resources, allowing candidates to interact and express themselves in their own right, rather than being simply judged and potentially rejected based on their CV and cover letter.

The main concern is not knowing what the AI is supposed to detect. It can be adapted to detect anything, from a candidate's communication clarity to their physical appearance, including their background. In human resources, it is essential to eliminate biases. In an interactive AI-powered interview, there is much more uncertainty. There will be errors, both good and bad, that's for sure.
