National Administration School Hosts Conference on Japan's Fiscal and Monetary Modernization

The National Administration School (ENA) hosted a significant conference on Tuesday, focusing on the theme: "The Modernization Process in Japan in Fiscal and Monetary Domains". This event is part of the "JICA Chair" conference cycle, organized in partnership with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Keynote Speaker: Professor Inaba Kei-Ichiro

The main guest was Japanese Professor Inaba Kei-Ichiro, an expert in economics and former executive at the Bank of Japan (BOJ). He currently teaches at the School of International Corporate Strategy at Hitotsubashi University.

Presentation and Debate

Before an audience composed of ENA students and representatives from the Tunisian Ministry of Finance, Professor Inaba Kei-Ichiro presented the major steps of the fiscal and monetary reforms that accompanied Japan's modernization. These reforms were crucial in the country's rapid economic development. Following the presentation, an interactive debate allowed participants to exchange directly with the Japanese expert, asking questions about possible applications in the Tunisian context.

Cooperation between ENA and JICA

On the sidelines of the conference, ENA Director Khaoula Abidi received a Japanese delegation led by Mayumi Miyata, JICA representative in Tunisia. Both parties expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation between ENA and JICA, particularly through exchange and training programs.

Objective of the "JICA Chair" Cycle

According to a statement published by JICA on its Facebook page, the "JICA Chair" cycle aims to share Japan's experience in development with Tunisian students. It covers several key areas, including economy, finance, industry, and history.
