Egypt and Spain Sign Partnership for Sustainable Development
Egypt and Spain signed a partnership for sustainable development on Thursday, September 18, in Cairo, covering the period 2025-2030. The agreement was signed by the Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation, on the sidelines of the Egyptian-Spanish Business Forum.

This partnership, presented as the first of its kind for the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), sets a framework for collaboration in priority areas:
- Inclusive growth
- Climate action
- Food security
- Gender equality
- Water management
- Biodiversity
- Improvement of public services
Implementation and Follow-up
A joint Egyptian-Spanish commission will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the projects undertaken.
Regional and Trilateral Cooperation
Beyond its bilateral aspect, the agreement paves the way for regional and trilateral cooperation, strengthening Egypt's role as a reference partner in the Mediterranean and Africa.
