Clarification on Egypt Visa Fees
No Immediate Increase in Visa Costs
For several days, information has been circulating about an increase in Egypt's entry visa fees, suggesting a rise from $25 to $45. These announcements, widely shared on certain websites and social media platforms, have raised questions among travelers and tourism professionals. To address this confusion, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has officially clarified the situation.
In a statement published in early December 2025, the ministry confirms that no increase in visa fees is currently being applied. The authorities formally deny the information suggesting an immediate change in tariffs and specify that no executive decision has been made in this regard. According to the statement, these rumors are based on a misinterpretation of recent legislative developments.
The context of this controversy is related to Law No. 175 of 2025, recently published in the Official Journal. This text provides for the possibility of setting a maximum cap for certain visa fees and consular services. However, the ministry emphasizes an essential point: this cap does not mean an automatic price increase. It is a legal framework that only becomes effective in the event of subsequent regulatory decisions, which have not yet been made.
On the ground, no changes have been observed. The current fees remain $25 for a single-entry tourist visa and $60 for a multiple-entry visa. These amounts apply to both visas issued upon arrival and those requested through the official e-Visa portal or at Egyptian diplomatic representations.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities reassures travelers and the tourism industry that the current visa fees remain unchanged, and any future adjustments will be officially announced.
