Tunisia Strengthens its Presence in African Economic Organizations
Zied Jaouadi has been elected as the Vice-President for North Africa of the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) executive council for the 2026-2028 term. He currently holds the position of Vice-President of the National Chamber of International Trade Companies within the UTICA.

The election took place during the 5th General Assembly of the PACCI, held from June 24 to 26, 2026, in Fes, Morocco. The presidency of North Africa was awarded to Hamza Benabdallah, representing the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Fes-Meknes.
What is the PACCI?
Created in 2009, the PACCI is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and brings together chambers of commerce, employers' organizations, and business associations from several African countries. Its objective is to amplify the voice of the African private sector and encourage exchanges between companies on the continent.
Role and Importance
The PACCI's role has gained significance with the launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The organization works on issues related to trade, investment, SME development, and economic integration. It also engages with the African Union and other regional institutions to defend the interests of African businesses.
