According to the publication, Ben Haj Amor has steered the group toward a technology-driven transformation strategy, seamlessly integrating artificial intelligence, digital solutions, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity across its subsidiaries. At the same time, Al Baraka has significantly strengthened its asset quality, maintaining a gross non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of just 3%. Ben Haj Amor also serves as President of Albaraka Türk Participation Bank.

This year’s Forbes Middle East ranking recognizes 102 leaders across 100 entries, representing 21 nationalities. Emirati executives dominate the list with 31 honorees, followed by Egyptians (15) and Saudis (13).

Geographically, the UAE remains the region’s primary business hub, hosting 49 of the ranked CEOs. Saudi Arabia follows with 18, ahead of Qatar (11).

The 2026 edition further underscores the financial sector’s dominance in the Middle East. Banking and financial services are by far the most represented industry, outpacing real estate and construction. More broadly, the list highlights the growing influence of executives who successfully balance financial performance, digital transformation, innovation, and robust governance amid a rapidly evolving economic landscape.
