Market Interest Rate Stabilizes at 6.99% in June 2026
The average market interest rate (TMM) remained stable at 6.99% in June 2026, according to the latest data published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT). This is the fifth consecutive month where this indicator has not changed, confirming a stabilization of the cost of money in the Tunisian money market.
Historical Context
This stability comes after several years of gradual decline. In June 2023, the TMM stood at 8%, before falling to 7.97% in June 2024, and then to 7.5% in June 2025. It has now reached its lowest level since 2022.
Previous Trends
The TMM had peaked at 8.05% in March 2023, following the tightening of monetary policy by the Central Bank to contain inflation. Since then, the indicator has been on a downward trend, before stabilizing since February 2026.
